Fate The Winx Saga | Season 3 Episode 5 | Illuminating the Dark (3)

LIGHT

Stella was lying unconscious in a bed at the Alfea infirmary. Bloom was sitting beside her when she slowly started to wake up.

"Where am I?" she asked.

"Don't worry, you're safe and back at Alfea. How are you feeling?" Bloom replied.

As soon as Stella's vision came back, she saw Bloom.

"Bloom? Oh my god, you're back," Stella said as she instantly hugged Bloom.

"Yeah, I'm back," Bloom said with a smile and hugged Stella back. Musa's spell worked! Dark Bloom was gone, and the real Bloom had returned.

Stella was beyond happy to see her. Even though they never fully got along, they were still pretty good friends, and there was a special bond of friendship between them which neither of them could fully understand, but they knew they would always be there for each other when it mattered, which is what made their sort of friendship pretty special.

"What happened?" Stella asked.

"What happened is that you were a hero today. You took down the shadow on your own," Bloom said.

"Wait, so the shadow is—," Stella asked.

"Dead, yup, you killed it and saved everyone at Alfea from a horrible attack from the shadow's army," Bloom said.

Stella couldn't believe she actually did it. She was so happy.

Suddenly, Aisha came inside.

"Finally, you're up. Come on, everyone's waiting," Aisha said.

At first, Stella was a bit confused as to what Aisha meant by everyone. Bloom and Aisha dragged Stella out of bed and took her outside, where everyone shouted, "Surprise!"

It was a party at Alfea. A party for the death of the shadow and a celebration for the Princess of Solaria, who saved the whole school from a horrible attack from the shadow's army. If Stella hadn't done that, the school wouldn't be alive today. The destruction would have been too much considering how the shadow army kept on coming and weren't dying by anything. But Stella saved the day, and everyone was so proud of her.

"There you are. I love telling everyone how my roommate's a hero today," Flora said, coming up to Stella, hugging her, and checking up on her.

Terra was also with her. "Also, thank you for saving my life," Terra said to Stella.

"And thank you again for saving mine," Flora said to Terra.

"Flora, you've already thanked me like a million times," Terra said.

"And I'm going to keep thanking you for a million more times," Flora joked.

It was a cute moment in the school. Suddenly, Professor Silva came and interrupted. He came to tell Bloom that the headmaster wanted to see her in his office. "Oh, and welcome back," Silva said with a smile to Bloom.

"Thank you, and I'll be right there," Bloom said and was about to go, but then her eye fell upon the window where she saw Andy standing outside looking at Bloom.

"Actually, give me a few minutes. I'll meet the headmaster in a while," Bloom said while going outside.

FIRE

"You know you should probably get out of here before the headmaster catches you," Bloom said as she came outside.

"I had to see you one more time," Andy replied.

"I'm not her anymore, you know. I'm not evil; I'm myself again," Bloom said in a light, calm voice.

"I know. I just came back because I wanted to explain why I wanted the Codex," Andy said.

"I already know that—to bring back Valtor, wasn't it?" Bloom asked.

"No, it was actually because of a mistake, a mistake that I made a year ago, a mistake that involves Isobel," Andy said.

"I'm listening," Bloom said.

"Isobel was an amazing person, a girl with a pure heart. Yes, she was a Winter Keeper, but she didn't use her powers, and her heart was not frozen at all until I came into her life. I saw her using magic once, and I told my dad, 'Sebastian Valtor.' That was my mistake. My dad wanted to open a portal to bring back the shadow who would eventually bring back Valtor. My dad thought the powers of a Winter Keeper would help him bring the shadow back by opening a door to the Realm of Darkness, but Isobel didn't want to do it. She knew of the horrors that would occur if she had done it, so she refused. And my father, being my father, killed her ill mother just so Isobel would have enough motivation to open the door to the Realm of Darkness. But unfortunately, she wasn't powerful enough to do that. All this incident did was make Isobel furious with my father. She wanted revenge. She used her magic much more from that moment onwards, and slowly her heart became cold. She wanted to kill Sebastian until her brother trapped her so she wouldn't use more magic and damage herself more. I'm the reason she's like this. Or more specifically, my dad is. And I wanted to fix that by getting all the pieces of the Codex, because with all the pieces of the Codex, one can do anything he desires, and I wanted to use them to bring back Isobel's mother," Andy explained.

Bloom was shocked to hear all this, especially the part about Andy being Sebastian's son. She also felt sad for Andy and told him how it wasn't his fault. Suddenly Bloom realized something.

"Wait, can I ask something? Who was Sebastian's father?" Bloom asked.

"Valtor," Andy replied.

Bloom couldn't believe it. "But not the actual Valtor, right? As in the villain from the First Dominion?" Bloom asked.

"Yes, that's him, my grandfather," Andy said.

"I don't—I don't understand. How is that possible?" Bloom asked.

"After the First Dominion, Valtor won and took over the kingdom alongside the shadow. He ruled over Solaria for ages and called it the Frozen Ages until one day the King of Solaria, Oritel, took him down and took back the kingdom. He captured Valtor, but Valtor escaped thanks to his friend Ogron. They went into hiding. Valtor was stripped of his powers, so he looked for other ways to gain power. He started to sacrifice humans and use it to make power. He was the first ever Blood Witch. Slowly, Blood Witches increased in numbers. Then Valtor started to literally feed on humans and became something like a vampire. He found a spell to make him immortal, but he'd have to feed on humans to remain young, and that's how he survived so long until Aster Dell, when Rosalind killed everyone," Andy explained.

Bloom couldn't believe all this. "Wait, but if he was immortal, how did Rosalind kill him at Aster Dell?" Bloom asked.

"That's true, he is immortal, and when Rosalind killed him, she knew he'd come back. So, with the help of Queen Luna, they sent Valtor to another dimension. A dimension that consisted of a realm which used to be a part of the Otherworld until it was completely destroyed and became a separate lost kingdom and got lost to another dimension. Sending someone there is like sending them to a place that doesn't exist. So it's like sending someone to infinite nothingness. Although no one knew what was on the other side of that dimension because none had survived the journey back and lived to tell the tale."

Bloom couldn't believe all this and was so mad at Queen Luna and all the authorities for not telling them anything.

"I should be going now. It was a pleasure working with you, and a little word of advice: you still don't know a lot about what happened a thousand years ago. I don't either, but keep looking. I know you'll figure it all out," Andy said as he turned around to leave.

"Wait, Andy," Bloom said.

Andy turned back around to see what Bloom wanted.

"There's still one more Codex left. Want to join me in getting it?" Bloom said.

Andy didn't want Valtor to return any more than she did. He knew of all the chaos Valtor would cause if he returned. He only wanted the Codex for Isobel, but that can't happen now as Marion has them. So now the next best thing they can do is to get the last Codex so Marion doesn't have the Codex to bring back Valtor.

"I thought you'd never ask," Andy said.

"Wait here, I'll be right back," Bloom said as she went inside to the headmaster's office to learn about the precise location of the Codex.

FIRE

Bloom went to the headmaster's office. As she stood by the door, she saw the headmaster sitting in his chair with two guards standing behind him.

"Bloom, what a pleasure. Come on in, take a seat," Headmaster Avalon said, introducing himself.

"Why did you call me?" Bloom asked calmly.

"As you already know, your mother, Marion, has acquired almost all the Codex except one. Queen Luna and her army are guarding that last Codex, which, for the moment, is in Andros. But we think it's still not safe. The Codex is too powerful, and if Marion has all of them, that would be disastrous for the Otherworld. The only way to make sure Valtor can't come back is if we destroy the Codex, and—"

"Only the dragon flame can destroy it. That's why you need me. Got it. Where is it? Let's go," Bloom said confidently as she stood up, but Avalon stopped her.

"Wait, there's one more thing," he said.

She sat down again.

"This is hard for me to say, Bloom, but unfortunately, rules are rules, and I've seen your record. You killed Rosalind and were punished to stay in stasis, but you broke out of it and escaped. Then you left Alfea," Avalon said, trying to make Bloom look like a criminal, which made her very upset.

"Yeah, to save the whole Otherworld," she said.

"Yes, I am very well aware. But you came back and have broken thousands of our rules," Avalon said.

"Because I was under possession of Valtor's mark," Bloom said. She had had enough of this headmaster and all the new faculty.

"Nevertheless, there are rules and procedures which we must follow, so I am sending these two guards with you to Andros who will make sure you perform your job and return to Alfea accordingly in time for Queen Luna to come and decide your punishment," Avalon said.

As the guards were going to come near her, her eyes started glowing. Suddenly, fire appeared, separating the guards from her. Bloom consciously created it, she had had enough of the authorities thinking they can do anything when all they've done so far is mess everything up.

"Fuck you and your rules. You have no idea what I'm capable of. Don't you dare make the same mistake again of underestimating me. I have had enough of these stupid rules,". She took her friends and went outside where Andy was waiting.

Stella, Brandon, Bloom, Aisha, and Andy were going to go to Andros. Bloom created a portal with her magic. Aisha was a bit suspicious about Andy, so she asked Bloom, but Bloom had a good feeling about him, that he wasn't one of the bad guys. They all teleported to Andros.

Aisha went because she was from Andros and knew the place best. Stella and Brandon went there to save Isobel. Bloom and Andy went to destroy the Andros Codex before Marion could get her hands on it.

ANDROS

Aisha, Bloom, Stella, Brandon, and Andy reached Andros. The portal that Bloom created transported them near an ocean. The view was beautiful. The weather was rainy but enchanting, which was typical for Andros. Andros was a breathtaking realm, with much of it underwater. It had the largest oceans in the Otherworld, and many water fairies originated from Andros due to this fact.

"Okay, so according to Brandon's research, Isobel is after the Coral Gem of Andros, and I've done some research too and know where it's located. It's on the barrier mountains which are located in an island, but there's a way to get there. There are underwater tunnels built in all the oceans on Andros. We can go through them. Since Andros is mostly underwater, it gets harder for people to go from one place to another. That's why the tunnels were made. Me, Stella, and Brandon can go and find Isobel and stop her before it's too late. If someone takes the Coral Gem out of its place, the whole of Andros could collapse. Meanwhile, Bloom and Andy can go stop Marion," Aisha said.

Accordingly, they did so.

Aisha, Stella, and Brandon were now at the underwater tunnels. Everything was going smoothly, and they were going to travel easily through the underwater transports in the tunnels, which were like trains but underwater. Until suddenly, the train stopped. The lights started flickering. Something was wrong. Suddenly, a terrified voice spoke out on the speaker.

The underwater tunnels were malfunctioning. They were supposed to keep water out so fairies could breathe in them, but water started to seep inside. The tunnels were held together by magic, which was dampening. The tunnels were deep underwater, and no one could swim all the way up. Even if they could, they might get eaten by a shark first.

The magic holding the tunnels together was weakening, which could only mean one thing: Isobel. She wasn't doing it on purpose, but she was tampering with the gem, and this was the start of the collapse. If the gem was misplaced, the whole realm of Andros would slowly collapse.

Isobel had already knocked out all the guards and was now using all her magic on the gem. The gem was buried inside the mountain, and Isobel was trying to break it out. No normal fairy could do so because it was protected by powerful spells. But Isobel was no normal fairy; she wielded a forbidden lost power just like Bloom. Bloom had the Dragon Flame, and Isobel had the Winter Snow. Her power was strong, so she was breaking through the mountain and getting to the Coral Gem, but very slowly.

Aisha was terrified. She called Bloom and told her to come stop Isobel. Brandon was determined to save Isobel.

He got off the underwater transport and started walking in the tunnels by himself instead of the transport. Stella followed as well.

Meanwhile, Bloom and Andy faced their own challenges above water. The weather was getting worse, and the waves were growing larger. They had to hurry to stop Marion before she got her hands on the Codex. The fate of Andros and the entire Otherworld rested on their shoulders.

BARRIER MOUNTAINS

Bloom and Andy had almost reached the place where the Codex was when Bloom received Aisha's urgent message.

"I have to go. My friends need me," Bloom said, her voice filled with urgency.

"But you're needed here as well. The whole Otherworld needs you. If Marion gets that last Codex, it's over for all of us," Andy countered.

"But if Isobel gets the Coral Gem out, my friends will die. It won't be long before the tunnels collapse. I'm sorry, but I have to go. Besides, Queen Luna and her army are already there guarding the Codex," Bloom said, determination in her voice.

Bloom then created a portal and stepped through, keeping it open so Andy could come get her in case of an emergency.

Bloom reached the Barrier Mountains. She saw Isobel, who was fully focused on her magic. Her eyes were completely blue, and magic was radiating from all parts of her body. She was trying to break the protection spells on the gem, and she was succeeding, albeit very slowly. Andros was starting to fall apart.

"Isobel!" Bloom called out to her.

This made Isobel lose her focus. She turned around to see who had called her.

"Please don't do this, Isobel. You have no idea what you're doing. Doing this is going to destroy the realm of Andros. This gem is holding everything together," Bloom pleaded.

"I don't care. I must get that gem!" Isobel snapped, then turned back and resumed her efforts to break the spells.

"I'm sorry, but I can't let you do that," Bloom said firmly.

Isobel stopped her magic again. "And you're going to stop me?" she challenged.

"Mind your own business. Get out of my way while you still can. You have no idea what you're dealing with," Isobel warned.

"Actually, I do. I know you have the powers of Winter Snow," Bloom said calmly.

"Exactly. Now be afraid. I possess a forbidden power that no longer exists, so don't get in my way," Isobel said with a cold determination.

"Yeah, well, so do I," Bloom replied, her eyes beginning to glow.

"Well, well, well, a keeper of the Dragon Flame. I did not see that coming!" Isobel said, now clearly interested in Bloom. "How is that possible?"

"It doesn't matter. What matters is that you need to listen to me when I tell you that getting that gem isn't going to solve anything," Bloom said.

"You have no idea who I am or why I want that gem. And yes, it will fix a lot of problems, so I'm willing to fight to the death for it. So, bring it on, Dragon Flame keeper," Isobel said, her stance ready for a confrontation.

Bloom knew that reasoning with Isobel would be difficult, but she had to try. She readied herself, drawing upon the power of the Dragon Flame. The air around them crackled with energy as both girls prepared to face off. The fate of Andros— and possibly the entire Otherworld—hung in the balance.

Suddenly, Brandon also arrived. Isobel created a winter spell and tried to hit Bloom, but Bloom dodged. They fought intensely until suddenly Andy appeared from the portal.

Isobel didn't recognize him as she had only met his father "Sebastian" but Andy recognized Isobel all too well. However, he was in a rush. "Bloom, you need to come back. I went to the place of the Codex, and all of Queen Luna's army was knocked out. Your mother is already there," Andy said, panic evident in his voice.

This terrified Bloom. If her mother got the last Codex, the whole Otherworld would be over as they knew it. Valtor was the strongest, most malevolent fairy to have ever existed, and he could not, under any circumstances, be allowed to return.

Bloom understood the urgency. "I'm sorry, but I have no other choice," she said, concentrating all her magic on a very powerful spell and then aiming it at Isobel.

"No!" Brandon shouted. Before the spell could hit Isobel, he leaped into its path, and the spell hit him instead.

"No!" Bloom cried out. She had used such a powerful spell to knock out Isobel because she was strong and needed more magic to be subdued. But this spell, hitting Brandon, might have killed him.

"Nooo!" Isobel yelled as well, tears streaming from her eyes. In a fraction of a second, her eye colour changed; maybe she was back to normal. She broke down in front of Brandon's lifeless body as he stopped breathing.

Andy dragged Bloom out of there and through the portal. Bloom cried all the way but didn't stop him, understanding the gravity of the situation. Stopping Marion was now more critical than ever. If they failed, everything they did would be for nothing, and Valtor would be freed, changing the Otherworld forever.
