Fate The Winx Saga | Season 3 Episode 1 | Listen to my Voice (1)
THE OTHERWORLD
The Otherworld always stood apart from the First World. Fairies and specialists preferred the Otherworld's ways and considered it superior. They were more technologically advanced than the First World, but that didn't change the fact that the First World had its own charms. One of the best things about the First World was that it had four seasons: Summer, Winter, Autumn, and Spring. People from the Otherworld had to go to Earth to enjoy the beautiful snow in winter. It never snowed in the Otherworld (except Polaris), or so they were told. There were some legends that said otherwise, but those stories weren't considered good bedtime stories. It was said in these legends that the whole Otherworld did in fact experience winter long ago, during the Frozen Ages, one of the dark times of the Otherworld. People didn't believe in those legends and thought that the absence of winter in the Otherworld was just the way things were. But everyone eventually wondered if the legends were true.
The Otherworld had been freed from the evil witch Sebastian, who had stolen the powers of many young fairies from Alfea College. Bloom, a student from the same college and the fairy of Dragon Flame, saved everyone by sacrificing herself and entering the Realm of Darkness. And with her many long-lost secrets were discovered but much has been left untold. There were unanswered questions and mysteries piling up.
Life returned to normal in the Otherworld, but that changed one fateful day...
Under orders from Queen Luna, three guards set out on a mission. They drove far from the kingdom, reaching a deserted place. They expected to find a green forest, but what they saw was different. They stopped their cars and got out to take a closer look.
"It's unbelievable," one guard said.
A strange cold breeze had swept through Solaria in recent days, something that had never happened before. The Queen's worries were proven true.
The forest stood frozen before them, with snowflakes falling from the clouds. It was winter, but only in that area. The guards couldn't believe their eyes. They had been sent on this mission to see if the Queen's fears were justified, but they never expected to witness snow in the Otherworld.
"We'll go inside the forest. If we don't return in an hour, go back and inform the Queen," one of the guards instructed the third guard. The third guard stayed behind while the others ventured into the forest. Their hearts raced, but they knew they had to uncover who or what was causing this unexpected snowfall.
The third guard anxiously awaited their return. Just a few minutes passed when screams shattered the silence. The guards screamed as if their lives were in danger. Then, the screams abruptly ceased. They were gone. One of the trees was completely covered in blood of the guards and a shadow was standing behind it, staring at the third guard. Fear gripped the third guard, who ran as fast as possible to the car. He was still outside the wintry forest, spared from the fate that befell the others. He quickly got inside the car and sped back to Solaria, determined to warn the Queen.
FIRE
I slowly woke up, my eyes blinking open to see the familiar surroundings of the realm of darkness. The blurriness in my vision cleared, and I found myself lying on a small wooden bed inside the tower where I first arrived. As I looked around, I saw my mother standing nearby, looking worried. I felt a bit dizzy as I tried to sit up, but my mother gently pushed me back down, telling me to take it easy.
"What happened?" I asked, curious and confused. I tried to remember what happened, but it was difficult to make sense of it all.
"Don't push yourself too hard, my dear," my mother said soothingly, coming closer with a cup in her hands. It smelled nice and comforting. "You fainted. It happens in this place. The darkness weakens our powers. I experienced the same when I first came here. With time, you learn to adapt... though I hope you won't have to."
Drinking from the cup, memories started to come back. I recalled why I came to this dark realm - to stop the Shadow from escaping, close the portal, and reunite with my long-lost mother, Marion. Before fainting, I discovered that the woman I met in the tower was indeed my mother.
"What's in this cup?", I asked looking at what she had given me.
"It will make you feel better," my mother reassured me with love and concern. She had learned to be resourceful during her many years in this dark realm.
"Bloom, you must tell me, what brought you here?"
"I came to close a portal. A blood witch from the Otherworld opened one to this dark realm, and I had to close it. Allowing the Shadow and other creatures from here to enter the Otherworld wasn't an option. I could only close the portal from this side."
Marion's expression changed, and sadness appeared on her face. I sensed some worry in her response. "Bloom... the Shadow is gone".
Panic rushed through me, and I felt my heart skip a beat. "Wait what," I said.
"I fear it escaped before you could seal the portal."
"Then I have to go back, my friends, they need me", I said while getting up from the bed. I couldn't leave my friends to face the unleashed Shadow. I felt responsible to act; after all, I was the only one with Dragon Flame, possibly strong enough to defeat the Shadow. I was determined to go back, all I had to go was create a portal and I could be back at the Otherworld but I couldn't.
"Sebastian used stolen magic from fairies to create the portal. I have enough magic to create another one, but doing so might let more creatures from this realm enter the Otherworld, I can't do that," I explained, feeling frustrated.
I couldn't create another portal, that was the whole reason I came here, to close the connection of Otherworld to the Realm of darkness.
"Don't worry," Marion reassured me, her voice warm. "There's another way to escape this realm."
Relief washed over me, knowing there might be another option. But curiosity nudged me to ask, "Can I ask something?"
She nodded, encouraging me to continue.
"Why didn't you ever return? You spent a thousand years in this place. Didn't you want to go back?"
Emotions flickered across Marion's face. "At first, I couldn't risk it. Going back would have put everyone in the Otherworld in danger. But as time passed, living here drained my powers. I faced countless enemies here, many of whom I had banished myself. Eventually, I lost the ability to create a portal."
As her words sank in, I realized the tremendous sacrifice my mother had made, spending a millennium trapped in this realm. Even the powerful Dragon Flame had its limits, and my mother's powers had weakened from living here.
LIGHT
Only a few weeks had passed since Beatrix had sacrificed herself to save the Otherworld. Stella had formed such a strong bond of friendship with Beatrix that, in the end, she was the only person Beatrix could fully trust. Beatrix had told Stella about her sisters and how Sebastian had given her an address where they supposedly lived. Beatrix had almost gone to see them, but Stella's words had influenced her decision, making her think of others before herself for once. Although Beatrix had definitely betrayed every fairy at Alfea, it couldn't be ignored that she was also the one who saved every fairy on that important day.
Stella set out on a mission to find Beatrix's sisters, but her efforts proved unsuccessful. The address Sebastian had given Beatrix turned out to be wrong. At first, Stella considered the possibility that Sebastian had made a mistake, leading her to search for Beatrix's sisters in other houses on Diamond Hill. Only one house remained unexplored. She approached the door and knocked, but as before, her hopes were crushed. No one in that house had ever heard of the names "Isobel and Diarcy Daniels."
Stella felt frustrated and a touch of sadness from her failure. She had really hoped to find Beatrix's sisters so she could inform them about her sacrifice. Beatrix's sacrifice hadn't changed much in the eyes of the fairies at Alfea. They still saw her as the girl who had killed Calum, worked for Rosalind, and betrayed everyone by allowing Sebastian inside Alfea. Stella wanted to find others who cared for Beatrix and wanted to honour her memory, but maybe it was time to accept defeat.
Feeling disheartened by her failure and unsure of her next steps, Stella texted in the Winx suite group chat, letting them know about her unsuccessful search and that she wouldn't be coming to the library that day. Seeking comfort and advice, she called Aisha. Aisha had always been the smart one, making her the perfect person to ask for advice.
Meanwhile, Aisha was in a secluded corner of the forest outside Alfea, beyond the barrier. She was eagerly waiting for someone special: Grey. Despite Grey's past as a blood witch, he had ultimately proved himself by saving Sky and helping in the battle against Sebastian. Even Silva had forgiven him, though he was strictly warned never to return to Alfea, so they had to meet outside the barrier. At first unsure about their relationship, Aisha found comfort in Grey's presence when her best friend and roommate, Bloom, was gone to the Realm of Darkness, leaving Aisha feeling helpless and depressed. For the first time, something was beyond her control, and she longed for a positive aspect in her life. At that moment, Grey seemed to be the answer. Aisha gradually realized that his intentions had not been evil; he had only sought revenge for his family and, upon realizing Sebastian's true nature, joined the side of good. He had never truly wanted what Sebastian wanted and had simply been lost, a feeling Aisha could now understand.
"You're late," Aisha joked as Grey finally arrived.
"Sorry, there was too much security. I had to make sure no one saw me coming here," Grey explained.
"I guess you'll have to make it up to me," Aisha teased, leaning closer to Grey, their lips almost touching.
However, their moment was interrupted by Aisha's ringing phone. It was Stella calling.
"Wait a moment," Aisha said, answering the call.
Stella explained her difficult experience to Aisha, who was somewhat surprised that Stella had reached out to her. Nevertheless, Aisha knew that Stella needed a friend, and she was determined to help. "What should I do now?" Stella asked, her voice filled with uncertainty.
"Why don't you come back to Alfea? We'll figure something out," Aisha advised. They ended the call. "Now, where were we?" Grey asked, moving closer to Aisha as soon as the call ended. However, Aisha's attention was caught by the group messages on her phone. Terra had sent a message in the Winx chat inviting everyone to go to the library. "Sorry, I have to go. It's library time," Aisha said apologetically. Grey, though disappointed, understood because he knew Aisha was a loyal friend. The girls of Winx suite went to library every day to do research about the realm of darkness and possibly find a way to save Bloom.
EARTH
Almost all the fairies were moved out of Alfea, everyone was excited to go back to their families. All the students loved holidays but it's even more fun when its unexpected holidays. They were all prepared for a whole year of endless studies but considering the circumstances their year of misery has now been delayed, who wouldn't want to enjoy this opportunity. However, not everyone is happy even in such a time. For the Winx suite, Bloom's departure weighed heavily on their hearts. Despite their sadness, they clung to the hope that wherever Bloom had ended up, she had found happiness. Aisha knew more than anyone how desperate bloom was to find out about her parents and where she came from. Sebastian told bloom a lot about her past. Aisha was now holding on to the hope that bloom found her mom in the realm of darkness and got the answers she needed
Terra and Flora stood on the first floor of Alfea, observing students depart for their homes. Flora voiced her disbelief, "I can't believe they gave us holidays in the middle of the semester."
"Well, the headmistress did die, so there's not much they can do," Terra responded matter-of-factly.
"Yeah, but you'd think the best school for fairies would have a backup headmaster for situations like... when a headmaster kills the previous headmaster, and then a student kills the headmaster for revenge," Flora mused.
"Just a normal day at Alfea," Terra quipped, eliciting a smile from Flora.
Lost in her thoughts, Terra contemplated the stark differences in Alfea. Having spent her entire life at the school, she had witnessed students arrive with excitement, only to leave four years later as accomplished fairies and specialists. Terra had eagerly anticipated following the same path and starting her own journey at Alfea. Little did she know how difficult and different her time at the school would be. Alfea was no longer the place it used to be. While part of her rejoiced at Rosalind's absence, another part mourned the loss of Farah. Who would be the new headmaster? What if they turned out to be worse than Rosalind? if such a thing was even possible.
Flora noticed Terra lost in her thoughts and inquired, "Where'd you go to?"
"Nothing, I was just thinking about the new headmaster. I hope she's more like Miss Dowling. I don't think I can survive another year with a headmaster like Rosalind," Terra replied with a hint of sorrow in her voice. Rosalind may not have been as malevolent as the blood witches, but she had certainly shattered Terra's family.
"Yeah, all we can do is wait," Flora agreed, empathizing with Terra's concerns. Terra nodded, acknowledging the truth in Flora's words.
"Hey by the way, did you try it again?", Flora asked.
Terra immediately knew what she was talking about. "You mean transforming? Yea we all tried but it didn't work".
"Don't worry, you'll figure it out", Flora said.
Terra, Stella and Aisha had transformed recently to stop Sebastian but unfortunately after that all three of them weren't able to transform anymore. It's still a mystery as to why that is.
Glancing at the time, Terra remarked, "Anyways I sent a reminder message in the group chat to come to the library, everyone is going to be there soon." Since Bloom's departure to the realm of darkness, the remaining girls had been diligently researching in the library, delving deeper into knowledge about the Realm of Darkness and searching for a way to retrieve Bloom without resorting to opening a portal to that realm.
Noticing Sky lurking around Alfea, Flora, who had formed a friendship with Sky's roommate Riven, sensed his pain caused by Bloom's absence. She decided to approach him. "I'll join you guys in a while," she informed Terra before heading downstairs.
MIND
Musa and Dane were engaged in a training session, with Riven observing their sparring. Musa launched an attack at Dane, but he managed to dodge it. He retaliated with his sword, only to have Musa block his strike with her own weapon. Riven's smile and enthusiastic cheering for Musa showcased his immense pride. The hard work he had put into training Musa was finally paying off. Musa's background as a dancer had proved advantageous in her combat training. Her agility and swift movements surpassed those of her peers. Dane, who had been confident in his abilities to defeat Musa, started losing his confidence as she effortlessly evaded his attacks. Riven, solely focused on Musa's rapid movements, analysed her flaws during the fight, aiming to help her improve in future battles.
However, something seemed to distract Musa's concentration. In a vulnerable moment, Dane rushed in and attacked, taking advantage of the distraction. Dane was known for seeking out his opponents' weaknesses and fighting unfairly rather than giving them a fair chance. Riven understood that this kind of training was beneficial for Musa, as real villains often fought in a similar manner. The fight eventually concluded with Dane as the victor. Musa walked over to grab some water, clearly upset and bothered by something.
"Hey, what happened?" Riven inquired, his concern evident.
Musa, clearly frustrated, replied, "Nothing, I just lost. I'll train harder."
Riven could sense that there was more to it than just a simple loss. Something seemed wrong with Musa. He knew she could have easily defeated Dane in this fight, as Dane had underestimated her capabilities. However, something had distracted her, causing her to lose focus.
"No, it was more than that. Is something bothering you?" Riven probed once again.
"I said it's nothing, okay?" Musa snapped back, her tone filled with aggression. "I have to go. Tell Silva I won't be attending classes for a few days."
"Wait why, where are you going", Riven asked. "I'm going home", Musa replied while taking her bag and leaving.
Confused by her sudden departure, Riven couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to the situation than meets the eye. Musa was not one to give up easily, and he couldn't help but wonder if something else was troubling her.
Although Alfea had holidays for the time being, Silva, their instructor, had decided that the specialists would not have any breaks. He believed they needed to remain prepared for anything, having learned from the events of the past two years.
Riven couldn't let go of the sudden disappearance of Musa. He had never been interested in other people's emotions or feelings during his first year, and he had felt rather lonely, with Terra and Sky being his only friends. In his second year, he had met Beatrix and Dane, but he realized that he was tired of surrounding himself with negative influences. He started to miss Terra and their innocent conversations, and Musa had become his escape this time—a chance for him to become a better person. Throughout his second year, he had been afraid of being seen as a loser, which led him to make others feel awful to boost his own self-esteem. In retrospect, he realized he was no different from Stella, whom he had despised during his first year. He had detested how she treated everyone, but now he realized that he had engaged in similar behaviour during his second year. He had been a coward, afraid of becoming a loser, and had made others feel bad to make himself feel superior. Beatrix's death had left a significant impact on him, especially when he discovered that she had sacrificed herself to save the world. Perhaps it was time for him to change as well, if that was even possible.
SPECIALIST
Sky sat alone in a bar outside Alfea when Flora approached him. "You look like you could use some company," she said, trying to provide comfort. Sky was deeply upset about Bloom, unable to stop thinking about her. Although it was natural for Flora, as Bloom's friend, to be concerned, Sky couldn't help but wonder why Flora was here. It seemed like she might be dealing with her own trauma or troubles.
"What brings you to a bar during the day?" Sky asked, curious about Flora's situation.
"Everyone has their own problems," Flora evaded the question without offering a direct answer.
Sky became impressed when Flora showed him her fake ID.
Sensing Sky's worry about Bloom, she asked, "You're worried about Bloom, aren't you?"
Sky nodded slightly. "I'm just afraid for her. She's alone in the Realm of Darkness, and we have no idea what dangers await her."
Flora tried to cheer him up, saying, "Look, she's the most powerful fairy the Otherworld has seen. I'm sure she can face whatever challenges come her way in the Realm of Darkness."
"I hope you're right. I just wish we had a way to reach her," Sky expressed his concerns.
"Don't worry. We're all working hard to find a solution. I know we will see her again," Flora reassured him. Suddenly, a drunk girl bumped into Flora out of nowhere, causing her to spill her drink all over Flora. The girl apologized, but Flora reacted strangely, as if she was in pain. Sky asked if she was okay.
"I'll be back in a bit," Flora replied, excusing herself to go to the girls' bathroom. As she entered, she felt the pain in her body. Flora had taken a considerable risk when she used herself as bait to eliminate the scrapers, resulting in a scar on her body. That's why she found herself in this bar—for the first time, she realized that she wasn't as strong as she had believed or wanted to be. She hadn't even confided in her friends about her injury, fearing they would pity her and consider her weak. Her parents had sent her to Alfea to help Terra and her family through a tough time, and she had always been there for Terra. However, unfortunately being there for everyone else just gives her less time to focus on herself and her well-being
ALFEA
Stella arrived at Alfea. She knew that she would find Aisha and Terra in the library, deeply involved in their search for clues to locate Bloom. With a playful smile, Stella approached them. "So, did you two get any bright ideas that might help me?" she teased Aisha.
"As a matter of fact, I did. Do you know about the Solartracker?" Aisha responded.
"Yeah, it's a device in the Solarian palace that can track someone," Stella replied.
"Precisely! Can't you just use it to find Isobel and Diarcy? Don't you only need the names of the people you want to track?" Aisha suggested.
Stella hesitated, "Well, yes, I guess so. But the SolarTracker can only be accessed by my mom, and after what happened, I can't exactly ask her for help."
"But wait, this is perfect! I think this is exactly what we all need," Terra chimed in.
Confused, both Aisha and Stella looked at Terra and asked, "What do you mean?"
"Think about it. We all need to go to the Solarian palace. It could help all of us," Terra explained.
"How exactly will it help us?" Aisha inquired.
"Most of the books containing the history of the Otherworld and other hidden realms, like the Realm of Darkness, are kept in the Solarian Achieves, right? Stella, you have access to the library?" Terra proposed.
"Of course, every royal does," Stella replied.
"Then we can go to the library and continue our search there, and you can ask your mother to use the SolarTracker. Besides, there is nothing in this library that can help us anyway," Terra added.
Stella initially resisted the idea, not wanting to face her mother.
"You know it's the only option, Stella," Aisha persuaded, eventually convincing Stella to agree to the plan.
Stella did not want to ask her mother for any favors considering what happened last time. She finally stood up to her mom and said she would choose her friends over her royal title. She hadn't spoken to her mother since that day but she knew that if she wanted to find Isobel and Diarcy then this is the only way.
LIGHT
Stella activated her ring, transporting them to Solaria. This incredible ring had the power to travel to different places, but it required gateways to facilitate the journey. One of these gateways was located in the door of her room at the palace. Although her mother had forbidden her from using that particular gateway, Stella decided to go against the rule this time. Fortunately, her room was conveniently close to the Great Hall where the Queen resided, so her discreet arrival went mostly unnoticed. She guided Aisha and Terra to the library and went to meet her mom. The guards, spotted her and quickly made way for her to enter. Just as she was about to proceed, a medley of voices caught her attention. Among them, a guard delivered an unsettling message to the Queen, his fear evident.
"Your Majesty, it's true. Winter has returned, and unfortunately, so has the shadow," the guard reported. He recounted the incident that had occurred, describing the assault on two fellow guards before his own escape. The Queen skillfully concealed her terror, dismissing everyone present in the chamber. It was precisely at that moment that Stella entered.
"Well, look who's returned," the Queen remarked with a touch of sarcasm.
"What's happening, Mother? Is something wrong in the kingdom?" Stella asked, her concern apparent.
"Nothing that should concern you, given that you have chosen your friends over your royal duties. I fail to see a reason why I should involve you in the personal affairs of the kingdom, considering your lack of interest," Stella's mother replied, still harboring resentment from their previous interaction when Stella had stood up for herself. Stella felt frustrated by her mother's predictable response.
"So, why have you come?" Queen Luna inquired.
"I am here because..." Stella hesitated briefly before continuing, "I need your help."
"It must be truly significant for you to sacrifice your dignity and seek my assistance," Queen Luna remarked.
"I need access to the Solar Tracker. Only you have the means to use it, and I require it to find the sisters of my friend," Stella explained.
"Your friend... of course, you need it for a friend," her mother replied, disappointment clouding her expression.
"What's wrong with having friends?" Stella questioned, her frustration starting to surface.
"Having friends is fine as long as they don't interfere with what truly matters in your life. Unfortunately, they have led you astray from your intended path," Stella's mother conveyed.
"You mean the path you have chosen for me?" Stella retorted. She teetered on the edge of engaging in a more heated argument, but managed to restrain herself, wary of losing control over her words. Instead, she curtly asked, "Will you help me or not?"
"No," her mother replied simply.
"Never mind then. I'll find Isobel and Diarcy on my own," Stella declared firmly.
"Wait..." Her mother stopped her as she turned away. "Did you mention Isobel, as in Isobel Daniels?" her mother inquired.
"Yes, do you know her?" Stella asked, growing more perplexed.
"No, but I will assist you in finding her... them," her mother conceded.
Stella wanted to inquire further about how her mother knew Isobel's last name, but in that moment, she felt a surge of relief that her mother had agreed to help. She decided to embrace the opportunity and refrain from questioning it any further.
