Fate The Winx Saga | Season 3 Episode 5 | Illuminating the Dark (1)

FROZEN FOREST

The Shadow brought Terra to the Frozen Forest. She was now trapped in the dungeon of the dark castle, trying to find a way out. She had no clue why she was brought here or what the shadow had planned for her. Part of her was scared, but at the same time, she was satisfied with her decision because it helped her friend, Flora. Terra had made a deal with the Shadow, that she would come with him if he saves Flora and he kept his word. Flora was all cured now back at Alfea. Terra, however, was now a prisoner of the Shadow.

"There has to be a way out of here," Terra said as she tried to break free from the prison.

"There isn't." Suddenly, Marion's voice came from behind. Terra turned around to see.

"What do you guys want from me?" Terra asked.

"You know, so far we've always been one step ahead of you, until, of course, yesterday when your Queen pulled that trick on us and killed Ogron," Marion said.

"He got what he deserved, and all of you will too," Terra said in complete anger but also somewhat fear.

"Careful now, you seem to be forgetting if you take all of us down, you'll be fighting your best friend Bloom as well. Are you sure you're up for that?" Marion said.

"What kind of a mother are you? How could you have done that to your own daughter?" Terra tried to change the topic of Bloom as soon as possible so Marion wouldn't suspect Musa's plan of helping Bloom. Marion got angry after what Terra said. She was almost about to attack Terra. Terra got scared as well, but Marion's attack was interrupted when she was called by the shadow.

The shadow seemed worried, and Marion went to see why he called—it was because Isobel was missing!

They thought she was unconscious and lying in a bed in one of the rooms of the castle, but when the shadow went to check on her, she was gone. The shadow had put a dark spell on her to prevent her from leaving, but she broke free, which proved how powerful she was. Marion and Beatrix searched the entire dark castle but couldn't find Isobel. She really was gone.

The shadow used its magic to search for Isobel through its circle-shaped searching device. It wasn't working at first, but suddenly it did.

"We can't find her anywhere," Marion said upon entering the main room where the shadow was.

"No need to worry; she's still inside the frozen forest. My shadow army won't let her escape," the Shadow said, looking at Isobel through the crystal.

Isobel was now deep in the Frozen Forest, where all the trees were frozen and blue. This made Isobel a lot stronger than usual because of all the snow around her, but she had to find a way to escape for some reason.

Suddenly, she heard a noise and quickly realized it was the shadow doing something. The shadow's army was spying on her, waiting to capture her and take her back to the castle. They lurked behind many trees, but Isobel wasn't scared. She activated her magic; her eyes glowed, and she simply started walking. With each step, magic emanated from her shoes, freezing the ground even more. As she crossed the forest, she created a pathway for herself with her magic. When the shadow army tried to approach her, they became frozen before they could touch Isobel. She unleashed so much cold energy that no one could come near her. She easily exited the forest, freezing dozens of shadow army guards in the process. While moving through the forest, she kept repeating the same phrase, "Must find that crystal," sounding as if she were possessed or something.

ALFEA

Bloom and Sky were both unconscious, lying in beds in Alfea infirmary. Musa and Aisha sat beside them. Musa channelled her magic, keeping Sky's soul inside Bloom's mind.

Suddenly, Flora entered the room. "Is she doing well?" Flora asked Aisha about Musa.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Musa said, though her eyes kept glowing as she couldn't stop channelling magic, not even for a second, or else the plan would fail.

"How much longer can you hold on?" Flora asked.

"It's fine, I can hold on long enough. Everything is up to Sky now. Let's hope he can somehow bring back Bloom," Musa said.

"Yeah, God knows we need her right now to save Terra," Flora said.

"Yeah, and Beatrix," Aisha added.

Aisha was concerned for both Terra and Beatrix. She had been in the Shadow's mind, and it was no happy place. Now Beatrix was all alone there. They needed to find a way to save her.

While all this was happening, Stella crossed the barrier. She went outside Alfea to the abandoned warehouse. There, she used her ring to break into the prison of Lynphea. Brandon was behind one of the cells.

As he heard someone coming, Brandon said, "Go away. I don't know who took Isobel. I was here to save her myself, and no amount of torture is going to give you any bits of information which I don't have to begin with."

Suddenly, he turned around to see who it was. It wasn't a guard; it was Stella, who had been invisible at first, allowing her to sneak inside. Then she turned visible.

Brandon's face filled with rage. "You! You did this! You're the one who started all this," he said, standing up and aggressively coming close to the cell. His eyes were filled with such hatred.

"I know that I'm the last person you trust right now, but I know where Isobel is. She's at the Frozen Forest. And I need your help to save her," Stella said.

"You're right; you are the last person I trust," Brandon said angrily, looking away.

"Look, my friend Beatrix is there too, and I need to save her. We can both help each other. I have to save Beatrix, and you can save Isobel. I just need your help," Stella said.

"What do you want from me?" Brandon said.

"I know you have the transportation device of Eraklyon. It can take us to the Frozen Forest," Stella said.

"You think I'm an idiot? I know what Queen Luna said in her speech. The Frozen Forest is surrounded by the shadow's army. They kill whoever dares to enter that place," Brandon said.

"I know that, but we won't enter from the entrances. We will use the cube to create a portal to go into the middle of the forest, and I can use my magic to make us invisible. That way, they won't see us, and we can find Isobel and Beatrix. My mom is making the same plan with the Solarian Army," Stella said.

"I do not trust your mom," Brandon said.

"Neither do I, which is exactly why I think we should do this mission on our own, before my mom does. So, are you in or not?" Stella said, her determination palpable. The longer they waited, the slimmer Beatrix's chances of survival became; her magic would eventually drain out, and the shadows would overpower her. Stella couldn't let that happen.

Brandon was as determined as Stella was. He had to get out of the prison and save Isobel.

"I'll do anything to save Isobel," he said, indicating that he indeed wanted to go with Stella to the Frozen Forest to save his sister.

FLASHBACK

Isobel returned home, opening the door with a sense of urgency.

"Sorry I'm late!" she called out into the house. She lived in a small hut in a village just outside Solaria. Isobel and Brandon belonged to a poor family; their father was deceased, so the only income they received was from their own work. Their mother was also ill.

Isobel entered her mother's room, carrying a bowl of soup. Her mother struggled to sit up, so Isobel rushed to her bedside, setting the soup on the table and helping her mother to sit comfortably.

"Here, mother, I brought you some soup," she said, offering it to her. Their mother was very old and very ill, suffering from a life-ending disease. But Isobel and Brandon never gave up hope for her recovery. Despite their poverty, they prayed and wished for their mother to get better every day.

Outside, Isobel heard a noise. She went to investigate and found Brandon working on a pipe that had broken. He had been at it all day without success.

Isobel offered her help, sitting beside him and concentrating. Her eyes began to glow, signalling to Brandon what she was about to do. He hesitated, then held her hand, asking, "Are you sure?"

"It's fine, no one's watching," Isobel reassured him as she tapped into her magic, using her winter powers to fix the broken pipe.

Isobel's magic, the power of Winter Snow, was a forbidden ancient magic. It was no ordinary power; no one in their generation possessed it, and those who had wielded it in the past had committed terrible deeds, instilling fear in everyone. Isobel's parents knew they had to keep her power hidden from the world, and as Isobel grew older, she understood why. The legends of the winter keepers were terrifying, and the more one used this power, the colder their heart became, leading to greater evil. So, Isobel kept her power a secret. She knew using it too much would freeze her heart and she would become totally cold and not herself at all. Having born with winter powers was no less then a curse, it just meant that you were born to become cold-hearted and evil. Not using winter powers a lot was the only solution to overcoming this darkness.

As Isobel repaired the pipe, someone watched her from behind a tree. It was a young boy, it was "Andy". He returned home and informed his father.

"Dad, I saw something today," he said.

"What is it?" his father asked.

"A girl... she... she was using a strange new power. It felt like she could freeze things," Andy replied.

As his father heard this, he abruptly turned around. "Freezing power, you say? Take me to her," his father, who was Sebastian Valtor, commanded. Andy being Sebastian Valtor's son means he is also a BLOOD WITCH.

PRESENT DAY

Andy and many other Blood witches were gathered at their meeting spot, where he delivered a passionate speech to the Blood witches, rallying them against the fairies.

"The fairies have taken too much from us already. My father knew we had to fight back! He was so close before he was destroyed. But fear not, now is the time. Be prepared. Our friends are working on resurrecting the person who made us, the first Blood Witch to have ever existed and our master, Valtor. We shall serve him once he is free, and he will lead us to victory. The fairies will lose once and for all!" Andy shouted, earning applause from the crowd.

Valtor was originally a Winter Keeper, but after the First Dominion, when he won the war and took over the kingdom of Solaria, the King of Solaria, Oritel, returned one day with a whole army. Oritel defeated Valtor, stripped him of his powers, and imprisoned him. Valtor languished in the Solarian Dungeon for years until Ogron rescued him. During this time, Valtor began to seek out alternative methods to regain magic. Stripped of his winter powers, he resorted to sacrificing humans and their blood to create dark magic.

Those who had been stripped of their powers or had no powers to begin with joined Valtor in his quest. Together, they called themselves Blood Witches.

After addressing the Blood witches, Andy returned to his room, accompanied by his personal advisor, who had a question burning in his mind.

"Sir, I found out something. About you and your partnership with that Bloom fairy? Was it all to resurrect Valtor only?" he inquired.

"Yes, and fear not, it's over now," Andy replied curtly.

"But sir, if it was all to resurrect Valtor, then why didn't you inform any of us about your quest? Is it that you have some other need with the Codex other than saving Valtor?" the advisor pressed.

Andy's temper flared. He turned sharply to face the advisor, closing the distance between them. "What I do and whom I partner with is none of your business. Do you understand? Stay in your limits," Andy snapped.

"Yes, sir. Sorry, sir," the advisor responded, chastened. The advisor left the room. Even though he had stepped out of his limits, he was not wrong, Andy did have another reason for wanting the Codex, he was not doing it to free Valtor.

As soon as the adviser left the room, Andy looked at a picture of a girl, it was a picture of Isobel, a tear dropped from his eye while looking at her, as if something had happened between them in the past, something terrible which he regrets and must fix.

FIRE

Sky finally made it. He was inside Bloom's mind, thanks to Musa's powers, of course. The place was all reddish, with flames and fires everywhere. The clouds were red, painting a picture of a wasteland—a burned place where everything seemed destroyed, giving off an awful vibe. Suddenly, a girl spotted Sky.

"Who are you?" she asked.

Sky slowly turned around, and it was Bloom. However, she didn't look like her usual self. Her hair was a mess, her eyes weary as if she hadn't slept in ages. Her clothes were torn and dirty.

At first, Sky thought he was in one of Bloom's memories, and he needed to help her remember who she was to regain control of her body. But that wasn't the case. As soon as he began to speak, Bloom interrupted him.

"Wait, you know who I am," He asked.

"Of course, I do, but I don't—I don't understand. Are you like an illusion or something? Am I going crazy," Bloom exclaimed.

"No, no, this is not an illusion, and you're not going crazy. I'm here with the help of Musa's magic, she's projecting me into your mind, it's a new power she unlocked. I came to rescue you. It's really me," Sky assured her.

"Oh, my God, Sky!" Bloom realized, and she instantly hugged him. It was a beautiful reunion which only lasted a few seconds.

"No, no, no, no," Bloom suddenly regretted it, ending the hug. Her face filled with terror. "You need to get out of here, right now. It's not safe here," she warned.

"Wait, what? No, I don't understand. If you're aware of who you are, then why are you still stuck here?" Sky asked.

Suddenly, they heard a voice. "Come out come out wherever you are".

Bloom grabbed Sky's hand, and they both hid behind a rock.

"That's the reason why I'm still here," Bloom explained, pointing to where the dangerous and scary voice was coming from—Dark Bloom.

This version of Bloom was much darker than the real one. All the veins on her face had turned black, her eyes were pure black, her hands always glowing to attack, and her heart as black as coal.

"Every day she comes and tries to kill me, but since I can't exactly die, I come back. She's way too strong for me; she's the one who has control over my body. She was created by darkness, or more specifically, by the darkness of Valtor's mark, and now I can't fight it," Bloom explained.

I can already sense it; you're not alone today, are you?" Dark Bloom's voice echoed menacingly as she tried to find the real Bloom. Suddenly, she found the hiding spot and broke the rock using her powers.

"Well, hello there," Dark Bloom said to Bloom and Sky.

FROZEN FOREST

Stella and Brandon had used the transportation cube to get inside the forest, where they landed in the middle. Thankfully, Stella's spell was working perfectly, and they were invisible to the shadows, allowing them to easily reach the castle and go inside.

Marion and Ogron were trying to find Isobel. The shadow couldn't believe that Isobel took down so much of his army. He wasn't expecting Isobel to be this strong, but she was. Stella and Brandon were eavesdropping from the door while Marion and the shadow were talking. Beatrix was not in that room at the moment.

"Where do you think she went?" Marion asked the shadow.

There's one sentence that Isobel kept repeating all the way while crossing the forest: "I must find the Gem." The shadow knew exactly what she meant.

"She's gone to Andros," he said with full confidence.

"And why do you say that?" Marion asked.

"Because even though she doesn't show it, her ice powers haven't taken over her completely. The reason she never speaks is that her good side is fighting the darkness. Deep down, she knows she has to get rid of this power so she can be herself again, and the only way to do that is by the Coral Gem of Andros, one of the most precious and rare artifacts in the Otherworld," the shadow said.

"Well, should we go after her?" Marion suggested.

"No, unfortunately, we have much bigger matters to attend to. We must launch an attack on Alfea," the shadow said.

"Why's that?" Marion asked.

"Because they have Bloom," the shadow replied.

This shocked Stella. She thought the shadow and Marion were unaware of Bloom's whereabouts, but clearly, they knew.

"We must warn the others before they launch an attack on Alfea," Stella said while taking out her phone.

Beatrix heard Stella's voice and saw her phone, realizing someone was invisible. She used her electricity powers and made Stella and Brandon visible. "Maybe you should worry about yourself first," Beatrix said.

FLASHBACK

Isobel was in her garden, watering the plants when suddenly a man came from behind.

"Oh god, you startled me," Isobel said, turning around and seeing the man. It was Sebastian.

"Hello, you're Isobel, right?" Sebastian asked.

"Yes, I am. Who are you?" Isobel asked.

"Hello, I am Sebastian, and I'm here to offer you a deal."

"What kind of deal?" Isobel asked.

"Your mother is quite ill, isn't she? What if I told you there was a way you could save her?" Sebastian said.

"I don't understand. What are you talking about? How?" Isobel asked.

This was what Sebastian was waiting for. He wanted to free his father Valtor. He thought the only way to free Valtor would be by bringing back the shadow, who would then resurrect Valtor. And the only way to bring back the shadow was by using a lot of power to open the gate to realm of darkness, and Winter Keepers were among the most powerful fairies, second only to the Dragon Flame Keepers, who were THE most powerful fairies ever.

Sebastian told Isobel about his deal: how he would help Isobel get stronger, strong enough to bring back the shadow, who would then cure her mother. But Isobel knew of all the horrors the shadow had caused in the past. She was very aware of the history of the Otherworld—she had to be, because nearly all the Winter Keepers were extinct now. So, all she could learn about herself and her powers was through history books. She knew that the shadow was evil and wanted nothing to do with this plan.

However, Sebastian was not going to give up. "Why don't you think about it? I'll give you a week, and trust me, you'll want to help me bring back the shadow," Sebastian said.

"I will never in a million years help you bring back something so evil that nearly destroyed the Otherworld once," Isobel said.

But Sebastian went away without a word. He had a plan, and from the looks of it, it would not be a good one.

BLOOM'S MIND

The real Bloom and Sky hid from Dark Bloom, moving from one place to another. The real Bloom was scared and clinging to Sky's hand, forcing him to hide as well.

Finally, they reached a cave and hid there. Bloom's heartbeat was so loud that Sky could almost hear it. It was clear how broken Bloom was. Sky couldn't stand to see this.

"Bloom, we need to stop running. This can't go on forever," Sky said.

"You don't know her, Sky. She's way too powerful. She'll torture you to death. I've faced her many times, and she always wins. I'm nothing compared to her. I don't know how it's possible, but she's way too powerful," Bloom said.

"See, that's where you're wrong. This isn't you, Bloom. You don't talk like this. You're stronger than this. You need to remember and believe that. Look, this is your mind, Bloom. You have imagined Dark Bloom to be this unstoppable villain that you just can't face, and that's why she's so powerful. It's your mind that is making her powerful. It's you. You can change it. It's your mind. It's your story. You can change the story. You can make yourself powerful and her weak," Sky said.

"No, that's not how it works, Sky. Not with her. You have to trust me," Bloom said, still very much terrified.

"I do trust you, which is why I'm saying all this to you. You need to trust me, Bloom. And believe in yourself. And until you can do that, I'll believe in you for you," Sky said, stepping out of the cave.

"Sky, what are you doing?" Bloom shouted.

"Well, well, well, there you are. Aren't you a brave specialist?" Dark Bloom said. "So, are you ready for a slow and painful death?" Dark Bloom said, unleashing her dark purple dragon. Its fire almost knocked out Sky in an instant.

"Finish him off," Dark Bloom commanded her dragon, while the real Bloom watched from the cave.
