Fate The Winx Saga | Season 3 Episode 3 | Behind the Mask (1)

WINX SUITE

Musa, Stella, Aisha, and Terra were gathered in the cozy Winx suite. Their curiosity sparked as they wondered how Musa could rescue Bloom. Musa began sharing her plan and recounted her experience at Melody.

Musa began, "During my time in Melody, I visited the Echo caves. These caves are connected to my old school, the Golden Auditorium. They're filled with ancient magic and meant to guide people. I went there to find out if I'm meant to be a specialist or a fairy."

"So, did the caves reveal your fate as a fairy?", Terra asked as she noticed that Musa had taken off her magic-dampening bracelet.

Musa replied, "Not exactly. They guide in mysterious ways. They showed me two doors as a test. One door had everything I've ever wanted, and the other held the truth. The guardian of the caves told me that I'm needed in this reality. She informed me about Bloom, how to save her, and that only I can do it. But I needed my powers for that. So, I chose this path, and here I am."

Stella questioned, "But how can your powers save Bloom?"

"I'll show you," Musa assured.

She asked Stella to sit in front of her. Stella hesitated at first to be the test subject.

"Do you trust me?" Musa asked.

Stella sat down, indicating that she did indeed trust Musa.

Musa closed her eyes and began to concentrate. She focused her powers, entering a deep state of concentration. Stella sat across from her, also with her eyes closed.

Faint waves of magic surrounded them, creating a gentle and harmonious atmosphere.

Terra interjected, "Um, sorry to interrupt, but whatever it is that you're doing, is it working?"

Musa nodded slightly, indicating that progress was being made. She took a deep breath and intensified her focus. Suddenly, Stella fell asleep and collapsed to the floor. Terra rushed over to help, but Stella didn't respond.

Terra asked with worry, "Musa, what's going on?"

Musa continued to channel her magic with even greater intensity.

After a short while, she declared, "It worked." She opened her eyes as Stella started to wake up and got back on her feet.

Stella asked with confusion, "What just happened?"

"I entered your mind—it's a new power I have. I can explore what others are thinking, I can literally project my consciousness into someone's mind" Musa explained.

Aisha expressed surprise, "Wait, what? How?"

"I learned it in Melody. Mind fairies have more power than I thought," Musa shared.

Aisha inquired further, "But how does this help Bloom?".

Although this wasn't actually Aisha talking. Aisha's soul was trapped inside shadow's mind while the shadow was controlling her body. Once he possesses people, he can become and act completely like the person he possessed so no one noticed that this wasn't actually Aisha, just like they didn't notice Sky.

Musa started explaining. "As Lady Griselda said, Bloom is trapped in darkness because of something called Valtor's mark. Even though she's not herself, her true consciousness remains. I can go into her mind and wake her up. And I can bring someone with me as well so I need someone who's really close to her."

Terra realized, "Sky is the closest, but he's also affected by something dark."

"So, we need to help him first. Only he can save Bloom," Musa explained.

Stella asked, "Who's going to help Sky?"

"You," Musa said.

Stella was surprised, "Me?"

"You have the strongest connection to him, whether you're dating or not. Your friendship matters. Saving him is important, and it's easier because he's not under Valtor's mark. We can find out what's wrong by exploring his mind, although once we go inside his mind, I'm not sure what we'll face because we don't know what's wrong with him," Musa said.

Stella agreed, although she wasn't completely sure, and she suggested having a backup person too, someone else who is close to Sky, in case her relation isn't strong enough.

Just then, Terra received a message from Riven, asking Terra to meet him at the cafeteria. Terra thought about it and realized Riven could help as a backup as he is also close to Sky.

Terra said, "I'll ask Riven."

Musa's expression changed when she heard the name Riven. Though she quickly changed the topic. Terra noticed. What could be going inside her mind? Terra thought.

Musa concluded, "Alright, let's do this."

Stella reminded everyone, "Oh, and don't forget, we have a morning assembly. The new headmaster is going to speak to us."

WATER

Grey waited patiently outside Alfea for Aisha, at the meeting spot. She was late

Aisha's tardiness worried him since she was usually on time. He had messaged her several times the night before, but she hadn't replied. This absence of communication made him more and more uneasy, and he began to feel really concerned. Despite the rule that he shouldn't go into Alfea, his worry about Aisha's safety overpowered that rule. He decided to break the rule and go inside Alfea to make sure she was okay. Just as he was thinking about this, he saw something—he saw Aisha standing in front of him.

Relief tinted Grey's voice as he addressed her, "I was really worried about you. Why haven't you been replying to any of my messages?"

Aisha offered her explanation, "Sorry, I've been busy."

"Guess you owe me one for this," Grey playfully said, leaning in for a kiss.

Their lips met, but the exchange felt asymmetrical. Grey sensed an odd detachment in Aisha's response. Seeking clarity, he posed the question, "Is something wrong?"

Aisha's response was simple, "Nothing."

However, Grey felt something was off. When he had kissed her, the connection lacked familiarity. It didn't feel like Aisha at all. Something was wrong.

LITTLE STORM

Beatrix and Sky were walking through the dark forest, trying to find the voice that was calling for help.

All of a sudden, Sky spotted her: It was Aisha, surrounded by bats.

To his surprise, Aisha was in trouble, just like he had been when he arrived here. Sky didn't have a proper weapon, so he grabbed a fallen tree branch and used it to hit the bats. He managed to free Aisha from the bats, but now they were after him. He fought against them, but more and more bats kept coming.

Beatrix heard the commotion and came to help. She used her lightning powers to scare away the bats, but there were too many for her to handle alone.

"Help us, don't just stand there!" Beatrix called out to Aisha.

Aisha was startled by seeing Beatrix, but she knew she had to do something. Despite her surprise, she used her water powers to attack the bats. Together, they managed to defeat the bats, although not completely. More bats were coming, so they decided to run away. Beatrix and Sky told Aisha to follow them, and they ended up back in the cave. Luckily, the bats lost track of them in the forest, so they were safe for now.

Aisha was really scared and confused. "Can someone please explain what's happening?"

"Don't worry, Aisha. What's the last thing you remember?" Sky asked gently.

Aisha tried to calm down as she explained, "I was in Eracklyon with you and the others. I went into a room, and then there was a shadow."

"Where are we now?" Aisha asked.

Beatrix added, "We don't know exactly. All we know is that the shadow brought us here too."

Aisha was surprised. "Wait, I thought you were—"

"—dead? Yeah, I was. But the shadow can bring people back to life. It brought me back to whatever the hell this place is," Beatrix explained.

"You said you were in Eracklyon with me? That's not possible—I was here.", Sky asked.

They realized that the shadow was controlling their real bodies. They were stuck in this dark place while their bodies were being controlled by the shadow in the Otherworld, pretending to be them. They have to find a way to get out of here and warn the others.

EARTH

Terra and Riven met in the Cafeteria as she made her way to the morning assembly. During this brief encounter, Riven shared Flora's secret about her scar.

Terra's reaction was a mixture of astonishment and concern, "Oh my god, are you sure?"

Riven affirmed, "Yeah."

"I can't believe she didn't tell us," Terra remarked, her disbelief evident.

Riven's urgency was clear as he implored, "You need to help her. I know finding Bloom is important, but..."

Terra nodded understandingly, "Yeah, of course. I just wish she had confided in us."

A genuine concern emanated from Riven, something Terra found heartening. Riven's initial year had held promise, but he had since changed. Witnessing his earlier self resurface warmed her heart.

Comfortingly, Terra assured, "Hey, don't worry. We'll find a way to help her."

Riven shifted his focus, "Also, is Musa alright? Yesterday must have been tough for her, given her mother's death anniversary."

Terra reassured, "Yeah, she's doing okay."

As they were talking, a curious incident stood out to Terra. She had detected an underlying connection between Musa and Riven. The moment she had mentioned Riven's name to Musa earlier, an inexplicable reaction had crossed Musa's face, hinting at something brewing between them.

Interrupting their conversation, Silva's voice resonated from the microphone, announcing a mandatory assembly. All students were summoned to the main hall.

Terra suggested, "Come on, we should head to the assembly."

Riven hesitated, "Yeah, go ahead. I'll join in a bit."

Terra reminded him, "Riven, it's a mandatory assembly."

Riven's response held a streak of rebellion, "Well, mandatory assembly is a mandatory ditch." With those words, he walked away, something he had learnt from Beatrix.

ALFEA

The entire student body assembled in the morning assembly, filling the hall with a buzzing energy. Silva stood upon the stage, awaiting the settling of the crowd.

Stella, Aisha, Terra, and Musa sat together.

Silva's voice resonated, "Welcome, students. I trust you're aware of the reason behind this gathering."

Silva had made an announcement a few days prior, hinting at the arrival of the new headmaster at Alfea College. Hence, the purpose of their assembly wasn't a mystery.

He continued, "Regrettably, Queen Luna cannot join us due to unforeseen circumstances."

Stella thought: Perhaps it's connected to the frozen forest and Isobel.

Silva announced the introduction, "With that, I invite you all to join me in extending a warm welcome to your new headmaster, Professor Avalon."

Silva's gesture directed attention to Avalon, now standing on the stage. Silva exchanged a handshake with Avalon before departing.

The students burst into applause, welcoming the new headmaster.

Avalon addressed them, "Thank you, thank you, my dear students. I am truly honored to be here, taking the role of your principal. As I look around this room, I see a gathering of strong and confident fairies and specialists. In due course, you will safeguard the Otherworld as its future leaders, shielding it from all threats. You are destined to be this generation's guiding lights. Today marks the initial stride toward a promising future. I hope you share my enthusiasm in continuing on this remarkable journey at Alfea, culminating in four years as empowered and self-reliant individuals. Thank you."

Thunderous applause filled the hall, a heartfelt welcome to the new headmaster.

After the ceremony concluded, as students began to disperse, Silva intercepted Stella, Aisha, and Terra. He informed them that the headmaster wished to meet them in his office.

Confused, they exchanged glances but followed Silva's lead, guided by a curiosity that surpassed their confusion.

Musa stayed behind as she hadn't been invited.

Stella approached the headmaster's office door and requested permission to enter. "Come in, please take a seat," he warmly welcomed them.

Arranged were three chairs, and they seated themselves, puzzled by the reason for this summons.

"So, it's you three, isn't it?" he inquired.

Stella was confused, "I'm sorry, what?"

The headmaster clarified, "The fairies who transformed, of course. It's you, isn't it?"

Stella's gaze dropped, and the headmaster sensed their unease. Something was wrong.

"What is it? I don't understand, I assumed it was you," he stated.

"Yes, Headmaster Avalon, we were the fairies who transformed, but..." Aisha began.

"But what?" Avalon prompted.

"We haven't been able to transform again," Terra confessed.

"Oh, I understand. So, it was a one-time occurrence," the headmaster deduced. "We attempted it again but failed. We're unsure how we managed it that day, but now we can't," Stella explained.

"I understand. Regardless, don't worry. Even if it was a one-time event, I believe it's still commendable. You're among the first fairies to transform in a long time," he praised. Stella offered a faint smile.

"In any case, there's another reason for your summons," he turned to Stella. "Stella, looking over your records, I noticed you organized several events at Alfea in your first year, though none thereafter. Understandably so. I'm hoping you could coordinate another event—an orientation party," he proposed.

"In the middle of a semester? Why do we need an orientation party now?" Stella contested.

"Considering recent events, I believe it's crucial for these students to have a night of enjoyment. A good party can mend that. Call it what you like. How about a 'Welcome Back' party?" he suggested.

Initially, Stella found the idea odd, but the reasoning made sense. Everyone needed a break. While she wished to claim she was busy, explaining that without revealing Bloom's situation was problematic. Trust was cautious after the Sebastian incident, so she consented. They were trying to keep the gossips of Bloom and her evil awakening to the lowest. Not to mention they were never going to reveal that they're trying to find a way to save her, after everything these fairies have been through, there's one thing they've learned, its not to trust anyone but each other.

Terra, however, had doubts of this party. The situation seemed weird—she sensed the headmaster had ulterior motives for this party.

They were dismissed from the office.

MIND

Riven spotted Musa heading back to her suite. "Hey, Musa, wait up," he called, catching up to her. "Can we talk?" Riven asked, his guilt still lingering from the situation with Flora.

Riven began, "Look, about Flora... it's not what you think."

Musa knew Riven as the tough guy he often portrayed himself to be. His history wasn't spotless; he had hurt Terra by participating in a video with Beatrix and Dane during their first year. He hadn't always been kind to Musa either, occasionally displaying rudeness. Yet, as they trained together, an odd sort of friendship had formed between them. Still, she remained wary of his character. Maybe its because she started to feel something for him and was scared that she shouldn't feel something for someone who could hurt her like he hurt Terra.

When Musa had witnessed Riven and Flora's kiss while Flora was drunk, she jumped to conclusions.

Riven attempted to clarify, "Flora was the one who kissed me. I would never initiate that."

Musa wasn't swayed, pointing out, "But you kissed her back, even though you knew she was drunk. If I hadn't walked in, who knows what could've happened." Despite Riven's attempts to explain, Musa was resolute in her unwillingness to listen. "Look, Riven, it's none of my business. Just please, stay away from Flora," Musa requested before entering the Winx suite and closing the door.

As she closed the door, Musa felt an unexpected guilt. She couldn't quite pinpoint why, but the feeling nagged at her.

EARTH

Terra found herself in the Greenhouse, busy preparing everything. Her excitement was noticeable as her father, Professor Harvey, was returning to Alfea today, after a year's absence due to Rosalind's actions. With Rosalind gone, it was finally time for him to come back, and Terra couldn't have been happier.

Just then, Kat entered the scene. Terra's face lit up at the sight of her.

"Hey," Kat greeted, and Terra's smile widened. Kat inquired about how Terra was doing, expressing her frustration at not getting to spend much time together lately. Terra stumbled over her words, mentioning her involvement with the greenhouse and her father's return, but it was clear that something remained unsaid. Terra hadn't told Kat much about what happened at Lynphea and Eracklyon, she hadn't told her of their plan to save Bloom either.

Kat pressed further, asking about Terra's whereabouts the previous day. Terra evaded a direct answer, caught between wanting to share everything about the Bloom rescue mission and wanting to protect Kat from the chaos. While Terra trusted Kat, she was trying to shield her from the dangerous situation, unintentionally creating distance between them. But she didn't want Kat to be a part of all this mess.

A noise interrupted their conversation, drawing their attention to a knock on the greenhouse window. Through the glass, they saw a hooded figure, a boy. Terra cautiously opened the window and allowed him in. As the boy revealed his face, Terra's frustration surfaced. "Grey, what on earth are you doing here?" she exclaimed.

Grey's urgency soon became apparent. He explained the secret relationship he had with Aisha, about how he and Aisha have been dating secretly for the past few weeks, but this was not the reason he was here. He was here to express his concerns about Aisha's recent behaviour. Something wasn't right with Aisha, and Grey had gone to great lengths to reach Terra for help. He came to Alfea even though he was banished from here.

He urged Terra to investigate Aisha's odd behavior further, as he couldn't stay at Alfea for long.

Promptly, Terra left for the Winx suite, declining Kat's offer to accompany her. She wished to keep Kat away from the unfolding situation, reassuring her with, "It's likely just a false alarm, I'll be back." Kat, however, felt left out and uneasy about Terra's secrecy.

WINX SUITE

Back at the Winx suite, Musa was now at her room, suddenly she heard a noise from Stella's room, as if someone was there, she got up to further investigate. As she came to the lounge, suddenly the door opened. Stella and Aisha came. Terra joined as well in a while.

Hence Musa, Stella, and Terra started brainstorming about Bloom and Sky's whereabouts to initiate their plan. Aisha was present but oddly silent, causing even Terra to sense something amiss. Now that Grey had warned Terra, she was extra cautious and keeping an eye on Aisha. The group received a text from Flora in their suite group chat, containing a voice message. Flora informed them that Lady Griselda's condition had improved, and she shared a crucial piece of information: Bloom was pursuing the power source of Lynphea, known as the "Codex."

The Codex itself held little significance, consisting of five distinct parts. One of these parts was located in Lynphea and had been obtained by Bloom. This revelation hit Terra, Stella, and Musa with surprise, but it also offered an advantage. It meant that Bloom was likely targeting the other Codex pieces now. These remaining Codex's were hidden across various locations in the Otherworld. When combined, they formed a remarkable magical device. Apart from the known Codex's in Lynphea and Melody, the rest remained hidden and unknown to common fairies.

Since Melody was renowned for possessing one of the Codex's, the girls deduced that Bloom might set her sights on it next. This realization fuelled their determination to head to Melody, believing it to be the next destination in Bloom's pursuit of the Codex's.
